    Design inspiration:

Like all our designs, we draw from our life experiences and the trends surrounding us at this moment in time. We always strive for an effortless and cool design. In line with the heavy influence of the coastline, we wanted to design a top that is worn in the summertime as a top, but can be layered and reversed as a cropped bolero jacket in the cooler months. Meet the Tallulah Top!

    Details about the pattern:

For our beginner sewers out there, we recommend you pre purchase the binding rather than making your own, this option makes this pattern perfect for beginner sewers. For the more intermediate/advanced sewers, we have included a tutorial on how to how to make your own single fold binding. This will result in a beautiful finish and is very satisfying to use all your scraps of fabric and have less waste!

This pattern comes with a tutorial in the download as mentioned above, this tutorial includes:

    • How to make your own single fold bias binding for this pattern.
    • Sewing tips on how to stitch the bias binding at the tie corners.
    • Sewing steps How to sew binding to sleeve edges.

The pattern also comes with copy shop files and the regular print at home files.

This style features a high neckline, a boxy shape, tie back feature and is made to be reversible from front to back! All outer edges are finished with single fold bias binding. You can choose to purchase binding from your local store OR make your own with the instructions we have included in the tutorial.

    Elevate the look:

We decided to best show the versatility of this pattern would be to showcase two totally different fabrics. So we opted for a heavy linen and also a soft floaty black crepe. We love nothing more than a matching set so we matched the Tallulah Top back with the High Waist Pants/Short Pattern in the Rust Linen. For an elegant feminine look we teamed the top with the Midi Flare/Tiered Skirt (the tiered version pictured here).

We chose a beautiful rust linen from Remnant Warehouse and a Black Crepe E&M Greenfields both brilliant fabric stores to make the Tallulah Top and High Waist Pants/Shorts. The Tiered Midi Skirt is made from a lovely cotton/silk from Potter & co.
